bloodworm and joker fishing

For blood and joker fishing,
the idea is to place a small
amount of water in each
section and add the blood
in one side and the joker
in the next. This will allow
the bait to swim and separate
allowing you to select
individuals. Each section
has a sloping bottom that
allows you to gently drag the
bait up the sides onto your
finger, making it quicker
and easier to hook your bait.

  Bloodworm and Joker Tray
From Fisheasy.

This is a nice bit of kit to have in your holdall and is designed as a bait tray for blood and joker, but I have also used it as a bait box for holding small quantities of bait, or for experimenting with flavourings when you don't want to spoil your whole batch.

The only draw back is the fact that this particular tray is made for round seat box legs. I have not seen a version for the square legs without the use of an adapter, but there may be one available. The cost of the tray is approx £10.00. Check with your local tackle dealer to find out more.

I have been using this tray for two seasons now, so I apologise for the state of it!

sensas black

If you do use this stuff remember
to keep it nice and dry otherwise
it congeals making it difficult to
use!

  Sensas Black.

Another item I always have in my bag is Sensas black. I have used this to dye Groundbait and other things including Joker.

With groundbait, how many times have you taken a light coloured variety with you only to discover that the water is gin clear so making the bottom light up like a beacon? This stuff could be the answer to your prayers. It doesn't take away any of the flavourings of the groundbait and only a small amount is needed to be mixed with your damp groundbait for it to darken for use.

At around £2.50 a tub it could mean the difference between bagging and sitting there like a gnome.

drennan pole cups

Some anglers like to glue the
foam insert that comes with
the packaging onto the bottom
of each pot to help it float when they are full of heavy baits
such as meat and corn.

  Drennan Pots.

Again these are mine and well used. I have chosen to review these items because of how good they really are. Made of a strong plastic they screw onto an attachment that is located on the end of a top kit.

My 'cupping kit' is measured to the exact length of my match kits and not my power kits. This enables me to feed more accurately on the canals in the winter when the fish are not moving around so much. I know that my float will be sitting over my feed every time. In the summer this matters little. (Perhaps that's where I went wrong this summer!)

Priced At around £7.00
