Is it windy by you?
Since October last year every one of my weekends has been taken up with either a team match or practice match so it was nice to be involved in a match where it was more of a social event, the match in question was to be between a few anglers from Talk Angling, Maggotdrowning, Total fishing and Yale Forums. On the saturday i had been up and put thirty pegs in just in case everyone who showed an interest attended, as it transpired only 15 turned up so with a wind stronger than Rick Waller on a diet of Carling and baked beans i decided to go to the venue to see which pegs were less sea like.....no chance...but with a few pegs sheltered at least some would be able to able to fish further than 4 metres out.
With monies paid I was happy when Royst drew me peg 20 next to Dixon street bridge, not only was it an end peg but it, along with pegs 18,19,25 and 26, was one of the sheltered pegs.I was really looking forward to having a craic with anglers on the neighbouring pegs but with a bridge to my right and two empty pegs to my left i might have well as been pleasure fishing, drawbag springs to mind, it was a peg i had fished twice before, the 1st time i had struggled on bloodworm but had taken 70+ roach on caster for a total weight that would have exceeded 20lb but the last time was in a match and i struggled for. 2lb+ of roach and a pike of 7-9-0 (which did not count)
