Larry et EL
I can help ref the rules.
Below are the rules as per Rolfs site for opens run there, BUT as it is HIS fishery he can a does change them from time to time.
The latest rule which does NOT appear in the list is regards running line now being allowed.
Running line means floats, straight lead and cage feeders (METHOD FEEDERS ARE BANNED) as are any fixed feeders/leads.
Before the draw takes place on the day Rolf will make everyone aware of all the rules which are in place.
I'm there the Saturday before so will update any info i can for everyone afterwards.
Rule 1. Nets.
All nets including landing nets must be dipped in the net dip before use.
Rule 2. Hooks.
Manufactured barbless hooks only, NO crushed, pinched or nipped barbs. No hook shall be larger than a Kamasan B911 size 10. Regardless of the stated size on the packet a Kamasan B911 size 10 will be used to settle any dispute.
Rule 3. Baits.
a. The Following baits are banned:
Sweetcorn - Allowed as Hookbait
(will need to be confirmed on the day)
Cat food
Macaroni
Trout Pellets
Floating Loose feed
Floating Baits
Bread
b. The Following baits are limited to a maximum as follows:
Luncheon meat 350gm - Hook bait only
Please Note: THE ONLY FEEDING PELLET ALLOWED IS FROM FREEDOM FEEDS AND MUST BE IN ORIGINAL BAG. AVAILABLE FROM SITE.
ANY SURPLUS BAIT SHOULD BE THROWN INTO DEEPER WATER AND NOT CLOSE TO THE BANK NOR ON THE BANK
Rule 4. Elastics.
Elastics Must be through Carp Power Top 2 NO EXCEPTIONS). Elastics must allow for a reasonable amount of stretch. Anglers using over tightened elastics will be invited to slacken off the tension during the match or cease using the offending top set. NO EXCEPTIONS. The welfare of the Carp remains paramount in all circumstances - repeat offenders may face immediate disqualification at the discretion of the fishery owner NO EXCEPTIONS.
MULLETO SYSTEM IS BANNED
Rule 5. Litter.
No Cans at the waters edge, this includes drinks and bait cans. Anyone found littering will risk a full ban.
Rule 6. Keepnet's.
a. No Carp over 8lb in weight shall be kept in a keepnet. Such fish will be weighed, witnessed and returned immediately.
b. Minimum TWO Carp type keepnet's. All Nets are to be of a Carp Netting Type. One net shall be reserved for fish to 4lb Only and refereed to as the Small fish net. Fish between 4lb and 8lb should be kept in a separate net. Small fish total weight in net not to exceed 80lb, Large net not to exceed 100lb.
c. Unless in a specified Silver fish match, All silver fish are to be returned to the lake immediately, regardless of size. Each fish may be individually weighed and witnessed to add to an anglers total for the match, again regardless of size.
I know in print they can look awful and difficult to follow but believe me once there you'll find it all makes sense and is easy to follow.
Ref the weighing and returning of fish those that have not been before will be surprised how simple and effective a system it is.
Hope the above helps.
