i have fished canals before (about 3 years ago) i live just off station rd ilkeston and have lived there for 20 odd years but i have only ever fished with rod not pole. i fish between station rd and gallows inn as this is within walking distance cos i dont often have the car, at its widest along this stretch its probably about 15 mt and at narrowest is about 10 and anything upto 8ft deep in places, (were there arn't any bikes or shoping trolleys). I have been offered a DAM 8M ignite pole for about £30 any comments, i know it may not be first choice but i have a fair bit of tackle to buy so am limited to how much i can spend, bearing in mind i am only a pleasure angler (@ the moment lol)
