There are many ways. Depending on what your fishing with, pole, tip , waggler, ect. What I find good is get a tin of koshida catmeat in a blender so it like sludge, now slowly apply some pre made paste, just to give it some moisture and thicken up. This works well with the bream and carp. I never have any problems, make it thick enough and you can use this on the tip casting at a good distance.
