I appreciate Rive-t what you are saying and your fears about spreading it about. THe solution you suggest of not going to any water that's declared it has it, would be an answer. I fear that if you take that stance continually each time a new location is verified then in a few years time you will be out of places to fish that have carp in them.
A lot if not all commis have been supplied at some time or another from a limited number of suppliers. I know from personal experience that some deliveries are not always from where they claim, with fish dealers obtaining fish from other dealers and until recently KHV was not notifiable and was not regularly checked for. The fish kills that have been seen by anglers have been passed off in the past as low oxygen, result of new stocking a parasite, farm sprays. Strangely some of the so called parasite causes never affect the silvers that can also get the same parasite. Strangely the low oxygen doesn't do the silvers in. Some Farm sprays would nobble most living elements of a fishery.
I'm with Keith Arthur on this one, we are sitting near a time bomb.
