i always fish with the pole & paste, i make my own paste, but have found the fish going off paste for the last few weeks now as it gets colder, finding red maggots ( bunches of 4 ) to be catching the carp at the mo. infact a week ago, a carp swam off with me pole with reds on.
, this sunday just gone i used a feeder for the 1st time in donkeys years, have found that to be working very well, but my plan for the coming weekend is a method feeder on the pole
i find the margins to be going well with pole at the mo, but am hoping the feeder on the pole will make it even better.
personally i wouldn't be using paste as much now until next spring, but each to their own
