I know of a few top match anglers who carry small spirit levels with them and for one spend a lot of time gettin their seatboxes as level as possible.
The trick is to have your thighs also as level as possible to the bank and thats where a foot platform comes into its own.
If your bum is higher than your knees all the weight of the pole is supported by your lower back so this is the main one to avoid.
Try getting your bum level or just slightly lower than your knees and the weight of the pole is taken by your thighs.
