Match Report
Dog Lane Fishery
Middle Lake
Napton Warwickshire

October 21st

Middle Lake 10 pegs

1st Colin Bradbury (Castle Angling) Peg5 34lb 3½oz Method/Boillie & Maggot/Carp & Bream

2nd Pete Palmer (Dog Lane Fishery) Peg8 26lb1oz Method/Boillie & Maggot/ Bream & Carp

3rd Martin Paynter (Dog Lane Fishery) Peg51 21lb 4½oz Pole/Chop & Caster/Miixed Silvers

The wind this week was blowing towards the Dam Wall and Carpark bank, so it was no surprise to the regulars that the fish were in close to the pegs.

First chuck and first fish on the feeder for Colin Bradbury of Castle Angling on peg 5, fishing a small white boillie the tip wrapped round and resulted in the first of his 28lb of carp. The fish came and went in spells matching the rise and fall of the wind, which saw the water go from choppy to light ripple. Needless to say this did not slow Colin down too much and he finally put 34lb 3½oz on the scales.

On peg8 Pete Palmer of Dog Lane Fishery had also found the fish responding to the method and Boillie approach but on a line over his pole line. With the gusting wind proving troublesome for good presentation on the pole the feeder was his preferred tactic. Pete's final weigh in was a near 50:50 split of 26lb 1oz Bream & Carp for second spot.

Third place this week went to Martin Paynter also of Dog Lane Fishery who kept to his favourite chopped worm and caster and placed a fine mixed bag of 21lb 4½oz on the scales.

The draw for next weeks match will be SATURDAY at the Kings Head Pub Napton 9am and fishing from 10:30am to 4:30pm. (Light permitting)
