You could try casters, they make more noise when they hit the water, and fish shallow with a worm head same size as the caster. Or, how about using tares? Straight out of a Dynamite Baits tin, same size as 4mm pellets so hit the water with the same sound, fish a punch of Van Den Eynde boosted meat on the hook
