You probably just need to watch one of the better anglers to see what they are doing different. Instead of fishing next Thursday, sit behind Pete Sivell and just watch. Save the questions for after the match unless he's talking to you.

In general, watching the better anglers will always pay dividends. Go into Avon Angling and see where Tony is fishing next, then see if he minds you coming to sit and watch.

If your basic angling skills are up to scratch: casting accurately, feeding regularly often while doing something else, plumbing up correctly etc, you just need to find out more about the winning methods. That comes from mixing with the better anglers, so don't be afraid to talk to them.
