HI Moonshine
Willow pool very peggy at the moment there are 23/24 pegs on the lake but in my opinion only 4-5 pegs that you can win from.
The pegs close to the main car park were up to last weekend the pegs to draw.
23 and if there is a 24 are on the end of the lake and never pegged in our matches
Pegs 1 and 22 are opposite and are good pegs fished long up in the water or to the edge of the pool.
Peg 2 is probably the most consistent peg on the pool pegs 3-7 can all produce and are all good edge pegs ( flat bottom which is unusual here ) from 8-10 towards the other corner have been hard all through the winter and will stay that way until the wind starts blowing towards that end of the lake.
11+12 are at the other end and again never pegged in our matches 13 fish into the edge 14 -21 are mediocre pegs usually the pegs get better as you get nearer to 21/22.
Baits: corn meat or pellet up in the water and maggots down the edge (plenty of them ) Its not unusual to see the fish before the match and can be black in the areas I have described as mediocre but as yet they havent really opened their mouths?
I wouldnt like any more than 14 pegs on the pool 7 per side for a good days fishing, best weights on the matches I have fished are 170 odd pound with ounces less for second place 100lb is easily achievable on the rite day from pegs 1,2,3,4 and 22.
Long pole shallow
Margin
5-6 meter line (only ever caught late on with this)
As all of the pools there are some real lumps so you can put a good weight together quickly.
Good luck mate let me know how you get on
Dave
