although once i found out the match lake was going to be in, i knew the winner would be from there and i was drawing for 10 pegs, there has been a lot written on other forums about the choice of the two lakes and should all the pegs be on the one, in a way it would of been nice to win it from the big lake with everyone on there, might of felt a bit more special,

Matt, Please dont eat yourself up about what is said on internet forums, it doesn't matter where you draw the best you can do is win the match..fact!
At the end of the day you are in the final of one of the most prestigious matches in the angling calendar.
You did absolutely brilliant and no matter what anyone says you should be proud of yourself.
Every match you will ever fish will have good pegs and poorer pegs, The qualifier at Monks was won this year from 134 on match pool three, this is opposite peg 113 on match pool three that has won the previous two qualifiers, on that basis you won a ten pegger instead of a two pegger...thats fishing for you.
Go to the final and enjoy yourself, put up a good performance and you might just surprise yourself....
I for one will be watching on Sky and cheering you on every step of the way.
Best of luck mate.
