Hi,
I Used To Run A Tackle Shop And I Can Say That The Chub Rods Are Good Starter Rods,however I Havent Had A Lot To Do With The Fox Ones,the Reels Are Getting A Mixed Response.
Your Best Idea Would Be To Get On The Net And Get Some Advice,explain Your Situation And As Much Details Type Of Venue,etc, I Would Suggest Either Tackle Box In Kent (the One Lee Jackson Works In),or Leslies Of Luton -both Offer Excellent Service And Advice.
Also A Good Idea Would Be To Get Lee Jacksons Book On Starting Carp Fishing As This Gives Good Advice On The Basics.

Please Be Careful With Some Shops Though As They Do Try To Rip Begineers Off.
