Took the kids for a bike ride along the stretch today, only went down as I could see from the bridge that no-one was fishing before you all moan about bikes etc., and spotted a huge carp basking, must of been at least 25 lb and a shoal of proper bream lots of them looked in the 2-3 lb bracket with a load of smaller samples. At least 25 fish in the shoal. Wish I had got my gear with me. Might have a walk along the length with a rod and a few slices of bread this evening and see if I can't snare a beastie. This stretch of cut really is stuffed with fish and I am surprised it isn't fished by more anglers.
