Default Honest anglers

How much trust would you put in printed match results when it comes to baits & tactics used (e.g. Joe Bloggs 1st - fishing meat on the long pole shallow).
I'm thinking about fishing an open tomorrow, just looked at recent results & it occurred to me that why would someone spill the beans on a winning tactic if they intend fishing there again ? (& why should they !).
Would you say the kidology tactics through the match are less likely after the match & most anglers are up front ?
