Default help?

Hi mate,

Flick tips are primarily for use on whips, but can be used on poles too. They are usually used for catching smaller fish, Roach, Skimmers, Perch Gudgeon etc.
The tip is a solid piece of tapered carbon or fibre glass and you connect your rig to this. Effectively, this means your fishing directly to your rig, with no elastication or shock absorber in the rig. As long as you bear this in mind, the fishing can be great.
I regularly fish 6 and 7 metre whips and catch some great weights of Roach and Skimmers, and have a great time doing it.
Just think about where your going and what your likely to catch, any silvers under a pound, the flick tip is fine! Carp/ Tench or larger silvers, go for the security of elastic. I hope this makes sense and helps.

Good luck...Mark
