Default Watersmeet hotel and angling centre

i have decided to book Watersmeet hotel and angling centre for a week in july. I am wondering if any body has ever been here before and whats it like on here? Is there any pubs or shops in the local area? what are the best tactics for fishing the waters and what waters and pegs are best to fish? Thanks in advance to anybody that responds. I have included a link to there website in here. If this is not allowed please will a mod kindly delete it. Thanks again

hi danny.
if thats watersmeet nr hartbury gloucestershire. then you wont be wanting to find another pub. if your staying there and you like your drink, then you wont be crawling to bed much before 4am. if you like your food then eat in the pub as well. food is brilliant. try the steak or mixed grill. the plates a big as your landing net.
the landlords a decent bloke.he will look after you. as for the fishing theres 3 lakes. very small one at the front. its shallowish lose in. then it go's very deep. the main big lake holds carp and is full of silvers. the peg near the back of the pub is a flyer. waters not a bad depth, and the carp hang around the rushes in this peg.
not to sure about the other lake.last time i fished that lake was years ago.had a good head of tench. if you fancy fising somewhere else as well. there are a ouple of decent lakes close bye. syaunton court which is a bout 2 miles away,on the back lake is a good bagging lake. good fish in the main lae two, but on holidays you get a lot of kids and familys fishing this one. NOW IF YOU WANT SERIUOS ARM ACHING BAGGNG. ten ask the landlord where tirley lake is. if you like fishing floaters ie, dogbiscuits well your talking double even treble hundered pund bags. up in the water with hard pellet is also good. if you fish the margins or out in front of you on the bottom, then feed heavy as there are a lot of pain in the butt tiny carp. but you will have a day to remember. in summer of course. well good luck and enjoy yourself.
all the best steve

Tirley Court also has a Carp lake over the road for the speci boys as well as the match lake, also a few smaller pools that the owner lets you fish if theres a match on.

I went about 30 years ago, but did call in to take some pix about 5 years ago.
Let me tell you: it's out in the sticks! If there is another pub nearby, it will be in the next village and at least 2 miles away.

Default Watersmeet

You wont de disapointed, ive been twice, the pub is great and you can almost fish from the bar,the foods the mutts nuts(the breakfast will last you allday)i cought loads of carp to upper doubles on mixers if you fish the maggot you will catch plenty of silvers but be warned if you fishinto dark(the end pegs are lit)the bootlaces can be a nightmare. ENJOY. Regards Peter.
