The Angling Trust is offering anglers a fantastic opportunity to go fishing with their favourite England International angling star and at the same time support our Veterans and Anglers with Disabilities International teams.
Anglers can bid for a day's fishing with their favourite star in a special eBay auction set up by the Trust. The session will be for two anglers to have 5 hours of top class coaching from an angler who has fished in the World Championships.
The day starts with meeting for breakfast then a discussion about the type of fishing and prospects for the day. Then there'll be a period of preparation followed by a fishing session with top class instruction on how to choose the correct type of equipment and bait for that particular venue.
There will be three auctions each with four star anglers – the first has Will Raison, Allan Scotthorne, Des Ship and Darren Cox up for grabs. The other groups are Steve Gardener, Stuart Conroy, Tom Pickering and Sean Ashby in group two with Richard O'Connor, Dennis White, Dave Harrel and Steve Hemmingray making up the third group.
The fishing will take place at Lindholme Lakes (Doncaster), River Trent, Brookside Fishery, Browning Cudmore Fishery (Shropshire), River Wye, Gold Valley Lakes (Aldershot), Willingshurst (Surrey).
The first auction will open on 11th July and run for ten days with the subsequent auctions opening on the 24th July & 13th August.
International Events Director Dick Clegg says “It is a vital fundraising opportunity and we want anglers of all types to support this in order to help us fund future International teams. All the proceeds will go towards helping to fund the Veterans and Anglers with Disabilities International teams in their quest to bring medals back to England and keep angling at the top of the sporting lists."
Successful anglers will be using their own equipment, but where possible bait and a day ticket will be provided - and of course they can take a camera to record the day's events.
