Default bait tech expanders

what are people views on the baittech expander pelletts, when i get them to sink i catch well on them but i have been having problems getting them to sink, i have not got a pump but it says on the bag you can do them in a plastic bag with out a pump, i follow the instruction and they bloody still float, help, or have i got to stop being such a tight arse and buy a pump, scorchy
