Thumbs up worms

when i set up my wormery all i did was put some damp shredded paper in as bedding a few grated carrots & the worms come in a bit of soil/bedding just remember to keep puting food in
i do mine every 3-4 days not to mutch at once
tea bags , grated carrot, left over veg. paper, toilet roll tubes remember to cut up quiet small
no fruit-to acidic
no meat-to greacy
mashed potatoe is a good treat now & again (no salt or butter)
keep it damp but not soggy and remember to drain the liquide off so your worms do not drown
cheers worms

A 50/50 mix of rotted horse manure and peat is a good start then 'feed' it with more rotted manure and all of the things mentioned by Worms.

You can also give them a little poultry feed in the form of layers mash/pellets that's what some of the worm farmers do, also a little calcified seaweed sprinkled occasionally will help keep the mix sweet

For the bedding you want bog peat and shredded paper dont use moss peat it dries out too quick and is too acidic

stay away from manure as it will contain brandling eggs and before you know it you will have a wormery full of the horrible things

make sure the bedding is light and fluffy and dont mix the food into the bedding let the worms do that, make sure you have a good 3 inches or so of leca or pea shingle at the bottom for the moisture build up and have a tight fitting liud or make a light up that sits over the top otherwise your worms will be history
