Ringers are now made by Dynamite Baits, where they were made by Van Den Eynde before. Although they should (in theory) be the same pellets, as Steve and Phil Ringer are heavily involved in the recipe and they are probably sourced from the same manufacturer, they may well have changed in some way.
Alongside the old-style Ringers, I use Van Den Eynde RS Marines. They may well come from the same source as the old Ringers, so give them a try.
Otherwise, plenty of people like using Judd's expanders (www.purepellet.co.uk - Home) and I have had good results with Sonu Casters in red (although they were a pre-production sample, so they may be different now!)
