Default Feeding strategies

Fishing a match soon, The water is very peggy with one area having deep water (10') and another shallower(4-5') due to the weather its going to be a silvers (perch-roach with skimmers) match though a bonus carp may appear.
My plan is a silvers based ground bait with chopped worm.
-How many swims should i prepare
-How should I feed? - 2 balls of gb + pot of chopped worm to start, then top up every 2-3 fish with a nugget of gb + worm????
-Should I go onto the lead or small feeder first and let my main swim develop or go onto the main swim from the start??
Any advice would be appreciated

For what it's worth mate i would start on the straight bomb.
Cast around for the first 1/2 hour or hour with corn and try to pick up an early carp or 2.
I personally don't like choppy with GB. I would rather fish caster with choppy and caster or maggot with with GB.
If carp are a possiblity i would feed a pellet line well away from my GB line, keep dripping in micro's and having the odd look on it. Not for more than 5 mins max as if there is a carp there it should snaffle a 4mm expander in an instant.
If silvers are coming thick and fast keep going with them and only look on the pellet line after you have to re-feed the Gb line to give them time to settle back down.
I would also top up GB line every few fish with loose feed, feel your way in to guage how much they want.
Don't be scared to go through the depths they may not wanna feed on the bottom.
Hope this helps.

Spot on advise there from Spadger, you have to work hard this time of year. I find that if you are on the carp you will catch them all day as long as you dont over feed. If you arent on the carp then you may get one or two in the first half hour then nothing until the last half hour. I dont like ground bait this time of year

As previously mentioned caster and worm is the way to go. Forget the Groundbait. I would chop the worm really fine and mix the caster in and just feed a tiny nugget every 2 or 3 fish. Having said that i would be inclined to fish pinkie or caster rather then worm if the weather is like it is now.
