hair rigged corn on a bomb no feed just chuck it around till u find the fish
dead red maggot
double or triple maggot on the bomb with a tiny pva bag with a few maggots in and some black swim stim in it then cast around , on a comercial i would leave it 15- 20 min max then re cast somewhere else in your swim , if you get any liners in the 15 mins i would give it 5 mins more ,
i fished today on a channel on my pole at a venue called barby banks in rugby i caught a 3lb tench had 7 carp all around 3 to 5lb a 1lb goldfish koi and a 8oz roach
i was feeding 1mm fin perfect pellets
and hooking single bronze maggot
the person next to me was fishing punch cupping in liquidized bread and swapping with maggot aswell
he had 30 roach a 2lb fan tail but lost 4 carp one of which was double figure
On the pole i'd fish corn feeding 4or 5 grains every 2 ships and maybe putting abit of hemp in the tosspot aswell and even feeding small expanders aswell, occasionally the maggots will work well mainly on small method or feeder tactics just using very light groundbait and a small feeder. Even the splasher or pellet waggler can work on there day not feeding anything either useing maggot 4 or 5 on the hook or meat (possibly works on sunny days ) when the fish could be up in surface layers.... the expanders i use are ringers winter 3mm... hope this gives you a few options...![]()
Had 15 carp up to 8 lb a couple of weeks ago on a lake in Tamworth on liquidised bread in a cage feeder with discs of popped up bread on a hair!
Hi Tarks,
I've private mailed you with details of a couple of decent outings that ive had with weights between 30 and 50 lb on match venues within the last few weeks.
As i say, any additional info that you would like, just give me a shout.
Meat for me, normally Polony, or popped up bread on the bomb. Or pellet on the waggler.
