Default Speed Mould

Can anyone out there give me a method mix including the amount of water to be added to enable me to get the mix to stick to the feeder rather than the mould ? I am having trouble getting this right. I have tried Swim Stim but after pressing the feeder into the mould an wriggling it around, tapping etc etc half the mix stays in the mould. I have seen Neil Machins video and it looks so easy - unfortunately I am doing something wrong with the mix and don't know what.
Most grateful for any advise - thanks.

Your not doing anything wrong but one little tip i will give you is just before you put the groundbait in the mould just cover the inside of the mould with a thin layer of DRY groundbait and then add your groundbait then your feeder in the mould !
Doing this way the dry mix will keep from sticking to the mould

You have to have the mix as dry as possible, if it's to wet it sticks to the mould

Our film with Neil using the mould is just about to go to the printers so it will be possible to see a whole session with him using it.

Neil mixes his groundbait quite wet, but then leaves it for at least half an hour before using it. I had my first go with one two weeks ago and had no problems whatsoever, although I know others have.
The mix I used was 50/50 Sensas Carp and Crazy Bait Black, mixed quite wet. The only thing I would say is steer clear of 'Method mixes', they are too sticky. A standard carp groundbait is better, perhaps with a bit of brown crumb or a silver fish mix added.
If it is still a problem, try giving the inside of the mould a rub with a fine grade sandpaper. And when you give it the waggle, Neil reckons it has to go up and down, not side to side!

Steve - Thanks for the informative reply. I'll stay clear of method mixes in the future. So if you mix Sensas Carp and Crazy Bait Black 50/50 how much water would you use?

When is the video/dvd available?

Regards.

I have to admit I don't measure my water, I just add enough! My mix is wet enough to easily form a ball, only taking very light pressure to squeeze. It will dry out considerably when left for half an hour and may need another drop of water.
Perhaps you should experiment at home by mixing, pressing into the mould and dropping the feeder into a bowl of water to check the breakdown time. It si the kind of thing Neil would have done when starting to fish the Method, that is one of the things that sets him apart: his work at home, figuring out how and why a tactic works or will work better.

The film is finished apart from a last check for glitches. That check will be Monday, the master will be burnt and sent to our own oneabung, who will take two weeks to get the production run printed and returned to us.
Hopefully we are looking at a release date of 4th July.
