Default pop up?

hi all, do you think it would be possible to use small floating pellets on a rig with bulk shot low down as a pop up rig?, i dont know if this has been tried or not maybe i am too slow and it has been tried, just a thought.

Can't see that working myself, how would you tell if a fish is biting ? how would you plumb up for that ?

suppose i am trying to base it on the "lift method", couldnt you place say an ssg shot actually onto the last dropper to plumb?
