after you have done what duffman said put pellets in bag then sprinkle sticky mag over them ,,,,they will stay together and wnt break up on the cast ,,,thats wot i use when i fish the cone at distance

As for using hot water I prefer not too as this means using tap water which contains chlorine.

ive heard that if you boil tap water any added chemicals evaporate of in the steam ?
also would any added additives mask the smell or taste of chlorine

A fair comment, Simon.I know our dog would rather drink rain water than tap water, but it doesn't bother me enough to over-ride the convenience of doing the job at home.I tend to agree with torchwood.

I use this method quite a lot i use Sonu baits 2mm feed pellets which i just pour into a container cover and then leave after 10 minutes they are perfect.

The amount of tap water involved and corresponding amounts of chlorine are largely insignificant compared to the volume of water they are going to be immersed in.
Peeing in the sea never stopped any shark attacks as far as I'm aware!

I am just going on the principle that my cat will not never touch tap water - but you give him a bowl of rain water then no problems... if you are soaking your pellets in tap water then there must be some chemicals in them.... why take the risk... I have a rainwater butt and that does the trick for me - maybe I am just paranoid but just dont like using tap water bearing in mind a fishes sensitivity to chemicals would be much greater than a cats.

at the end of the day whatever method or type of water (tap or rain water ) you use to prep your feeder pellets its confidence in what you do and that counts
what works ok for one angler will /does not work for the next angler

the best pellets by far are the fin perfect 2mm and are very easy to work with. All you do when you get to the bank is to put asmany as you want in a tub leve for 2mins then put them in a fine mesh landing net and squeese all the water out leve for 10 mins job done perfect
