Default particles

When peole talk about particles, are they talking about groundbaits, like you brown crumb, method mix, or your 'dynamite' baits for example.

I ahve read that on a lake I am going to fish on my holiday at the end of september, they say 'no particles' in one of the rules.

Particles is such a broad term

Particle baits would normally mean nuts boilies and in some cases hemp and corn, with an emphasis on tiget nuts lots of fisheries hate them with a passion its basically all the ingredients of Vitalin

I would call and ask them to define and clarify that rule because technically pellets could also be deemed particle baits.

Justin is spot on, one of the clubs I fish with include pellets and boilies as particles, BUT DON'T INCLUDE hemp, wheat, barley and other seed baits as particles. I have over the last 2 years used quite a bit of wheat which was new to me but its very cheap, the fish on one lake love it. Probably cos the farmer feeds the ducks with it?
Always best to call and check, no fall out and save money!

Thanks guys, They have a what looks like a great tackle and bait 'warehouse' and we will no doubt ask for clarification on exactly what we can use for the 3 lakes for the 'bigger' fish. Al the ponds have a good head of carp but three have some monsters in them. 30lb plus those lakes are 'old carp lake' 'thompsons pool' and their newest lake 'karpiium lake'

With the week ticket I can day fish the 'old carp lake' which has a few30lb plus and a good head of 20-30lb.

the rules as stated on the website are as follows

The Old Carp Lake and The Karpium: 3 Rods may be used
Thompson's Pool: ONLY 2 rods may be used

1) A large (minimum 17") unhooking mat and landing net of 42" minimum are required and to be dipped outside the tackle shop
3) Minimum 10lb (breaking strain) line
4) Barbed hooks only (No longshank curved hooks)
5) Only feed frozen or fresh boilies, not shelf life baits (Shelf life baits may only be used for hookbaits)
6) No nuts, corn, hemp, particles or trout pellets
7) Kryston Klin-ik or equivalent to be used on all hook holds
8) No litter. Bag it up and put in bins by the car park.

I would imagine they only want you to use boilies or carp pellets.
You could use worms or bread for margin stalking if it's that kind of venue. Otherwise, just try finding the right depth for the fish (should be about 2-5' at this time of year) and drop in a boilie plus a PVA bag of pellets and chopped frozen boilies.
