Default best bait for legering a river

hi all
i am going legering a river on sunday and aparently there are perch/chub etc and i'm wondering what is the best bait to use (as i am rather new to this lol).

Good old liquidized bread with loads of goodies like pellets and corn or maggot in it. I reckon that would get you going ok for starters. Switch hookbaits depending on what you are getting during your session.

no doubt about lobworm seriously i have a river right nar me i used to go down every evening after school catch loads on worm

Either worms or maggots will catch you a few. Don't apologise for just starting out we have all done it, just enjoy it that's what it is all about.
