Default Using boilies

Sorry for asking such a stupid question, but eh, I don't have the answers and you guys do....that's why I am here! Having never used boilies (always been a maggot and worm man! ) can someone tell me how you fish with these little blighters. I assume you fish them on the bottom on hair rig, but what about feeder bait? Like I say, noobish question, have looked on internet and I think I could make the damn things now, just don't know what to do with them!!! lol Thanks for any help you can offer!

You can use boilies with anything. Mount either a bottom bait (standard boilie) or a pop up (floating boilie) on a hair rig, you would normally use a shot to anchor the pop up near the bottom say at 2" so it is clear of rubbish on the bottom. As for feed bait you can use the same boilies or any mixture of pellets, hemp or groundbait. Look at what others on the lake are doing. There are no fixed rules to using them.

No problem mate. I have plenty of questions to ask after many years fishing for nothing but carp i am a bit rusty on simple things like shotting patterns for wagglers and setting my feeder rod up. Another way to use them is to trim the boilie on the hair so its an uneven shape, This can be useful when carp are getting wise to little round balls. Or use what is called a snowman rig. This is where you thread a standard bottom bait and then a small pop up onto the hair to create a balanced bait. Any other questions feel free to ask thats what we come on here for.
