This is a big Lake John problem to and no doubt a problem when skimmers are the the main quarry on most commies

we have two methods of attack when this is happening, the first is to fish up in the water they are probably gill feeding, the tell tale is often if you lay your rig on the water and the float doesnt settle in the normal time, the second and most effective for me is to put a joint on or take one off and fish off your feed. this can have amazing effects as the bigger fish seem to sit back.
