Default Hunnington day out

today i went to hunnington i arrived at about 10am after then hauling mt gear over to my peg i set up half an hour later i was ready to go with 1 swim plumed up. I then put a nice pot full of choppy, maggot and pellet out to my main 5m line then fished over this with my strawberry expander,

1 hour came and went and not even a bite had occurred. i started to feed a margin swim with micros and then put another good pot full of pellet and maggots out to my 5m line. i had put a single gold maggot on the hook instantly i had a skimmer bream of about 2oz i then thourt i have got it so shipped back out with single gold maggot on the hook and for the next hour ziltch.

Now feeling a new approach was needed i put a whole pot full of pellets out to my 11.5m line and to my suprise they all floated within 5 minuets there were lots of good sized carp munching on them i thourt grate ill just shipp out to 13m and fish shallow. However the pellets had now blown out of my poles reach about 20m out so all the carp were munching on them. Hopeless i thourt.

getting kind of board and cold i was glad to see Lee (leeTwin) come over and say "are you Matt" I replied ye and then we had a good chit chat i then changed rigs back to my 5m line and catapulted a half pouch full of maggots knowing there was already alot of bait down on the deck. We both stood and watched my float well i sat he stood nothing happened the whole time not even a nudge.

When he left and drove off i put another pot full of choppy and maggots in and fished over it with a size 18 hook and single maggot i tried all the colours but not even a liner.

That was that my grate days fishing but at least i met Lee a very nice guy indeed. So role on the fur and feathers match looks like 10lb could easily win.

that's happened to me a few times too. always worth trying one at the edge of the water. still a day's fishing is a day's fishing even if the fish count is low.

Note the smilies Lee, but a quick rinse of feed pellets usually makes them sink and the first thing I do is check that they will sink. if they did not sink I would have taken them back, and no it aint the fisheries fault the lack of control is by the angler.
