With Cyprio and Matchpool being fished today the choice was easy I needed to draw on Cyprio to have any chance at all. The attendance today was well down on Starbeck standards and by 0900 only 20 were to fish the match ( normally 30+ anglers fish the Starbeck matches ) It was decided to put 14 pegs on...

Well, after my last evening visit (11 fish nice fish in 3 hours), I thought (especially after not managing a fish larger than about 3-4oz over the weekend), i'd pop back for another evening at Springwood.
Due to the time, my favourite spot was of course free (in fact, all bar one peg was free).
Set up as per usual. 2-3ft depth, size 12 hook, usual float (And weight set up), luncheon meat on the hook and pellets/scraps of meat thrown in.

High Flyer 21st Aug 09 TA Match A while back I fished a couple of matches at High Flyer lakes near Ely in Canbridgeshire. http://highflyerlake.co.uk/wordpress/A cracking venue that contains some big fish to just over 20lb. Plenty of margins and fish to go at. Now, Paul Law from the Talk Angling UK fishing tackle and angling news website had arranged a match to meet a few people from the site and to fish the venue. I took up the offer and arranged for my regular travelling...

Well, having been abscent from fishing for a over a decade, i'm back into the swing of things.

Started the season at The Coopers Arms Lake, in Weston on Trent (Derbys).
Decided to do the day on maggot and waggler. No big fish (hooked a decent one, but came off), but netted over 100 fish during the day (max probably about 3oz). Was good enough, but seeked a challenge.

Someone recommended to me Springwood Fisheries, near Melbourne, and off I went with my maggots...
