Look at the West match its on the Kennet and Avon canal at Devizes, the South is now well covered with a match in th South East and one in the South West.

The section that is currently favourate for the match is still superb fishing. Loads of quality tench, slabs and skimmers. On some of the pounds there are some huge carp as well but they don't come out too often. Provided the weather is good to us then the match should be a cracker.

The Southern Intersite 2008 is to be held on Saturday 2nd August 2008
on Match Lake 1 at Monk Lakes, Kent. Monk Lakes Ltd - The UK's largest purpose built fishery

There will be 4 teams of 8 taking part (unless Angling Times Forum puts in a team) and the cost will be £12 per angler to cover peg fees and pools. The number of anglers per team may increase to 10 providing all teams are able to field full teams. I will let the team organisers know where the entry fees should be sent in due course.

I appreciate this match is in the South East but as has been said above there is always the match on the Kennet and Avon canal if this is too far. Many anglers are prepared to travel, myself included, Willow Park for the past two years 170 mile round trip, TA Rolfs match 220 mile round trip and if i fished the individual intersite it would be 330 miles round trip. I can't see that for once in a while the match can't be a little further south, and apart from anything else EVERYONE will catch a decent bag of fish unlike Willow for the past 2 years.

I'm sorry if it has upset anyone by holding the match at Monks but don't knock it till you've been and tried the place, I believe you will be very pleasantly surprised.
