Default Other intersite matches

There are loads and loads of little forums out there... mainly clubs and venue specific forums or area specific forums as demonstrated by the Yorkshire Match Anglers forum ....

Next weekend the TA lads in Yorkshire are taking on the YMA lads on a local venue...

My idea is this - obviously there are the main big forums like TA, TF, MD, AF .... now if we can quite easily get 24 anglers on the bank next week i.e. 12 from TA and 12 from YMA why can't we involve the other big forums as well and then identify 20 or 30 other little forums which are area specific.

Then all we need to do is contact a forum in a particular area and choose a venue - TA can pay a deposit on the venue to secure it - then all we need do is try and get a few anglers from each of the forums to attend, by doing it this way I could see it easily getting 40 -50 anglers on the banks all over the country on a regular basis - we could even set up some sort league

Anyway just food for thought - but think it could turn into something big if done properly between those running the big forums.

Any thoughts appreciated and perhaps anyone from other forums could comment too or post a link to this idea on other sites.

What do you think guys?

Simon, I hear what you say, but can I modify that just a little bit.
You have a lot of little sites, more just glorified club sites than anything else.
Along comes a big site and challenges them to a match - you will scare the sh*t out of them.
Why don't we just have a fish-in and get to know the anglers before we actually challenge them to a match!

Just my opinion.

simon what about an intersite individual cup say at lindholme (500 pegs and a diamond owner) im sure neil g would supply the pegs that way there is no reserves everyone who wants to fishes. im sure the following year there is a venue in the midlands big enough to hold such a match. would,nt take that much organising as long as the site admins put it as a sticky and keep the cost down

i think you will find you have to qualify for that match via the intersite matches.if ive read it correctly section winners(sections of five)could be wrong. my proposal is a match for everyone no limits on numbers from all sites call it what you want what about intersitemania , whatever

No you do not have to win a section to fish the individual match, preference is given to those who have fished a intersite match if over subscribed, this in practice has not happened as there are usually spare places left, your suggestion I am afraid leaves it open to abuse by local ringers, the spirit of the intersite matches is to meet up with those who post on forums, and have the craic, as soon as the matches get the size you are thinking of then it can no longer have that effect, and would take some managing.

Ray123, lets get one organised then.... if you choose a venue and a date let me know and we I will try and organise getting people from all the sites to attend.

As for the main idea I had has anyone else got any ideas or want to modify the format at all? I think it could create a national online angling league!
