INTERSITE WEST CANCELLED

Due to only 2 forums being bothered to field teams for this Interste Western I have taken the decision to cancel the match, I cant see the point in 20 blokes making effort to travel and practice when the match should have been 40 pegs, in my mind the Intersite has hit rock bottom.

Slider.

i have got to agree with all of you i to was looking forward to this one can something be done about it who knows... (plus to of use are coming from bath as well...) yes it was going to be fished in close season which i could not see how we got a match on there, as they are like the bathampton canal they have a close season maybe we are special. we are the best site in the UK maybe that's what it is.. i cant believe that the other's could not get team's up to fish this one i think maybe use boy's from the.. real south.. must have been to good for them or frightened them we did have a brilliant team what a shame would have been one of the best...........lets hope something can be done about it.........

All I will say is the Western Intersite is not yet dead and buried. it may be dead as far as Devizes is concerned, which for the lads who put their names down to fish it is a shame, there was no pressure applied to Slider to cancel it because there were only at this present time just two teams willing to fish, it was entirely his own decision, but thanks must go to Slider for making the effort to try and put a match on a non commercial venue.
We must all appreciate that the Intersites were devised as a series of matches that allowed members of different forums to get together and have the craic, winning is nice but to my mind secondary to getting to know fellow anglers on a more personal basis, I would like to think that I have done that and now have a few more friends than before I ever fished an intersite match.

you know me bri i do agree with you as you know i have always said that the inter site match's are for that purpus getting to know other fishing college's.. not just about wining ( but it is nice to win..) you remember what i said at Barston last yr, we did not have a good turn out and i said wait to next yr bri we will have the biggest turn out you see.. when they hear how good the fishing was as well as the food.. walla and what have we got this yr one of the biggest i have see on here.. and yes i do agree that Slider did make the effort to try and put a match on a non commercial venue, witch make a change for commercial venue were do you think we are going to have this Western inter site match to bri......
