Northern intersite 2009!
Following the discussion regarding a venue for next years intersite after the match on saturday ive gone ahead and booked 50 pegs on jennys and anyas at langwith lakes on saturday the 29th of august 2009 for the 2009 northern intersite. Without booking this early theres no way we would have got langwith as for the most part it is booked a year in advance. The reason for 50 pegs is so that anglers cabin, a forum made up of mostly northern lads can fish as they have expressed an interest, plus it means we can have the run of both lakes.
So there you go lots of notice, no excuses for not turning up with a full team plus its a very good venue that handles having every peg in very well.

Is that not August Bank Holiday weekend, I am equally sure that to add another forum needs consultation with the other existing forums, Anglers Cabin will just be another team of local ringers, no problem if they want to compete in the other regions but my guess is they will not.

I agree Brian, only teams that are going to contest all of the intersite matches should be eligable - otherwise we are just running open matches!

Only a guess of course but, there may have been informal chit chat after the recent Northern match, but it certainly has not been discussed as far as site co-ordinaters are concerned.

Brian you are right there was a chat after the brown envelopes were given out, those anglers from the north discussed a venue for next year and gaz acted upon this. However, i didn't hear anything about another forum taking part and as i am from the east midlands i didn't take part in the chat.

The venues were informally discussed but that didnt include the discussion as to allowing other forums to join in....

i dont think another forum joining would effect our chances of success indeed it may help. i had a quick nosy at their website seems ok and it isnt exclusively northern but may have a northern bias a bit like talk angling has a midlands bias but perhaps a vote would settle any issues.

The point of the intersite series is a team must be fielded for ALL of the legs not just one local to them - we are not interested in having to fish against the local venue experts or a team of ringers.
