Getting back onto this topic - why not start a match group, anyone who wants to can fish under the Talk Angling banner - we can then start to look at booking some venues and matches.

one thing that may work is a teams of four league between the sites by that i mean all sites invited to enter teams not just TA. dates will be a problem and would probably take a year to get right but it could be done. also venue,s as traveling is costly . one idea would be each team provides one venue and pays for it . that way you get a lot of different venue,s and not just all carp puddles. as most anglers on these forums ( not all i know) live within 100 miles of solihul then it would be possible to set the venue,s within this area , then the most you would have to travel would be 200 miles although personally 120 miles would be more acceptable. that would be 60 miles radius of barston which takes in a lot of people and venue,s. just a thought as i know i would definately enter a team and i live 129 miles from barston.

I think a Talk Angling Match group would be a good idea if we do it right
The problem I see is logistics we are spread out just too far for one centralised group

There may just have to be several match groups based roughly on the intersite set up, wether we have sufficient anglers to get 4 or 5 regions going is at this moment questionable, but there is possibly no reason why at least there is not a Midlands and Northern group, and judging by some recent posts a Southern group woul not be out of the question.
My thoughts which I have held for a good year or so is that a joining bond/payment of say £10 to £20 is made by those wishing to be part of a match group.
This would enable the purchase of match equiptment such as scales, enable match organisers to book venues well in advance and pay any deposits required, having paid a bond those anglers would have preference on any TA matches it would also eliminate the need to pay match fees in advance, with any no shows forfeiting part of their bond that covers the peg fee, anglers forfeiting their bond would then only be allowed to fish future matches when the bond is topped back up to the full value.
Maybe in time we could see a set calender of dates for matches within the different groups, obviously a cross pollenation between the groups would be encouraged and there should be no need top pay several bond fees.

Brian, do you think people will be prepared to pay a bond? I don't really want to put obsticles in peoples way - is there an easier solution?

Given that my post is over 48 hours old and you are the first to reply, then it looks like a big NO. Is it a case of others wanting it all organised for them without any commitment, do they want a match group or are they happy with just a few knock ups.
