If you placed anglers, how would you know if certain anglers are good at certain methods.I have fished 2 matches with talk angling, but hardly know anyone. As said the right and FAIR way is a proper draw,no ones placing me on a crap peg.If i draw one then thats my problem, and ill try my best. When we all pay our entrance money the same, then theres no way someone should be placed on a flier to win the match and the winners prize money. As for tactics most pegs accomodate the feeder, and all the pole. You fish for the lumps,or maybe silvers if your on enough. But no way could you preplan your bait requirements even if you were placed, you wont know untill the day of the match,or if theres any wind, heavy rainfall etc.I will be taking a bit of everything. What doesnt get used will get frozen. The only concern that i have is that some off the walks are quite far.Tactics can be varied,so we will perhaps need a bit longer than the normal 1 hour to set up.What do others think?[i must be the slowest setter up that i know].
thanks
cornerstone.

Tony we will all be dictated to what peg we fish by a Team draw set against a team sheet, in our case that sheet will be in the order that I see you on Saturday, the allocated pegs for a team will be in a random order, so no individual will actually draw a peg, thats how it has worked on several intersite matches I have fished. We will not start fishing till 11-30 am which should give 1 1/2 hours, which was long enough when we last fished Stockton as I drew the furthest peg from the car park and had ample time to set up both pole and feeder.

Brian
I think the draw is done and that is it really. I dont think people should be placed it should be a random draw.
No good anyone trying to change the whole thing a week before we fish.
And certainly not 2 days before it, like cornerstone i dont want to come miles and be placed in a shite peg, god i'll be happy to draw one lol.

Mark what I cant guarantee is everyone on 80lb of fish not even 20lb but the match is for four teams of ten with ten sections all anyone can try to do is beat the other three in the section and gain maximum points, as with all team matches being the overall winner is the bonus. So if any of us draw a poor area then the chances are the other three anglers in the section will be in that same poor area that will give us all some what of a levelish playing field.

I dont believe placing anglers is a fair way to fish a match. The random draw gives everyone a chance. (thats my politically correct answer )
