And as for nets, if you want to borrow a net for the match, I will lendyou one Geoff.
Once a human has had a virus such as cold sores, it is in your body for life, as is the antibodys of measels, chichen pox etc from when you were inoculated, or from when you had it. This is the sam ith KHV, once a fish has been exposed to it, if it survives, it should be inoculated from the virus.
There doesent seem to be any places that suffer from it twice!
As for nets, there is no evidence that nets can transfer the virus, or that dips work.
All fish can cary KHV, even though it is only carp that die. I see seagulls, grebes, herons, cormorants, eating fish, then leaving here, only to land elswhere to s..t it out! That is how it is spread IMO.
I said in an ealier post, that i know of two local fisheries that have had exactly the same symtons as my fish, but have told no one as they dont want to lose any more fish for sampling, or lose and customers!
So basicly, if any fishery has had it, or had it and kept it quite, you may be fishing in a water that has had it anyway!

Not the best of days fishing wise, with carp not showing but with the silvers putting in appearance for some a few fish were caught, me I ended up with 20lb 14oz of mainly good sized skimmers for a section win and best weight on the car park bank, thanks for drawing me an end peg Ejayar.
Many thanks to both Chavender and mine host Nigel H for running the match, as always the after match barbecue was well received congratulations to the match winner Alan West who had 48lb on the waggler.
Nice to catch up with Bad Boy Bagger, Baggingup Art, and Paulscatt along with others from the different sites.
Took a few after the match photos and will put them up later.

For what it`s worth here`s my opinion of yesterday.
The weights weren`t brilliant but that`s fishing!!!
The people that bothered to turn up were a great bunch of lads.
Nigels` hospitality was second to none as usual.
The BBQ was absolutely top drawer as ever.
Now......... We all manage to get teams of ten for the regional matches for the intersite. Why on earth can`t a few more try to support this event? With a little bit of effort/organisation from a few more we could make this event really special.
Congratulations to Alan (Genus9 from Maggotdrowners) on a great win. I hope to see you all (and many more)next year.

i had a great time , yesterday , i managed a new personal best result in a intersite individual match ,I caught 2lb woohoo ;o),it was a pleasure to meet so many new faces & old friends and share a laugh or two.a big thanks to Nigel for all the help he gave Me & the brilliant hospitality
What a first class BBQ (worth sitting in one spot for 5 hours ,feeding the ducks for).
A very well done to (genus 9:Md's) Alan West and to win using waggler brilliant.Looking forwards to next years match already
(carpcruncher) has offered to run next years match ,lee has my vote ,things was organised a little late this year which ment a earlier date wasn't availible.it needs someone who knows what they're doing .To do it justice.
In a few days time i'm going to start a few topic's on future plans/ideas to take the intersites forward [so get your thinking caps on for some ideas] I know some people have stepped forward to organise some of the other matches already already .which is good and there maybe some venue changes for next year which will need quantifing .

Enjoyed the well organised match and very tasty barbecue. Like the lads above had a good natter with the small turnout from TA ( Tut tut ) and lads from the other sites too.
The fishing was hard in my section ( thats my excuse for 3 skimmers for 4lb odd.. ) but it was made up for with the craic I had with Ritchie from Maggot drowners on the next peg. We had a good natter all through the match. Even the journey home was non stop and jam free.
Well done also to Ejayar who stayed for the barbie despite having a family commitment in the early evening. Last seen running to his car with 3 burgers and a large hot dog.........................

Aw Scatty, tut tut .
Firstly thanks once again to Nigel for hosting and Steve etc. for organising another enjoyable get together.
After seeing the generous spread Nigel had laid on it would have been rude not to partake in a nibble , shame I had a few more bites from the barbie than I did from the fish but I promise to try harder next time , I did enjoy match with a nice 2lb Perch being my bonus fish in a lowly 7lb odd.
BRIAN I GAVE YOU THE WRONG PEG - IT WAS MINE - HONEST
Note to self, why do I always seem to have to dash off after matches lately?
