So first up with the money is as good a way as any, if they pay up quickly they must be half decent to want to part with the readies.
Also i know its about enjoying yourself but it would be nice to give TF a run for there money.

if it is over subscribed a random draw is fairest way and suggesting he who pays first must be decent i dont buy. yes i know it is difficult to sort a team but if first payed was put up as the team selection method on the first thread you wouldn't be chasing numbers now we are not talking a kings ransom after all. yes your right i think it is for fun and a chance to meet up with forum members not a serious event and as such any member should not feel discouraged from putting themselves forward just because some want a 'decent' team. it is frowned upon for individuals to join the site with the sole purpose of fishing a specific intersite venue and never be heard of again and as such the first payed method is open to abuse. as i said not a criticism as i would have glady have fished if i was available as it would be the closest intersite match i have fished (willows and bradshaw hall previously, 9 hour and 4 hour round trips)

I totally understand the arguement that people may spot the thread and jump on, make one post and send a cheque.... well obviously that is not acceptable unless we are short.
When I said - the first to get the payments to me - I meant those that had already posted to the thread. I have picked a team for the intersite before and you would not believe the amount of grief I got for not choosing one angler - I did it randomly and ended up getting accused of favouritism and even got phoned up and slagged off.... doing it this way means that those who have the most commitment to attending have sent payments and those that havent been on the site might have missed out (as it stands we only have half a team so far) - I understand someone might have been on holiday, but I did PM everyone on the thread and tell them this is what I am doing.....
I am not getting into arguements on how I have chosen the team on this match - that is the way it is, you all have a fair chance of fishing and there are still places available on a first paid first fishing basis.

i know it is difficult simon it wasn't meant as a crticism just trying to protect the genuine members from getting 'pushed out' by band wagon jumpers.i've been organising matches for twenty years and i just try to eliminate as many potential problems as possible. last year at the willows match some weren't even happy with just being in the team they wanted to pick which lake they were on.i am sure they used to call that pleasure fishing!!!!! i am sure you will have ten anglers come the day.

There is a unwritten rule that says that all anglers should have been a member of the forum they represent for at least three months, for those of us who have been around this forum for a good few years will recognise that we have on more than one occassion been unable to field a team of ten and either we have pulleld out or was the case three years back fished with 8 other bods making up our team.
I for one will be happy if we arrive at a situation where we can be truly selective in who fishes, as for last years Willows match the match organiser decreed that teams could place anglers on the different pools, and whilst I dont think that was right that was the way it was, we placed our anglers on the pools I wonder what happened to some of them that got on the better lakes.
