Have the controlling clubs got to check for the smoking permits that are in the pipeline as well as day tickets?

Bring back long walks and ban trolleys, most anglers are not doing enough to stop health problems if one or two match anglers dont like smoking who cares. I dont like all the overweight ugly anglers I see on the bank stuffing bacon butties down there gobs. But I dont ask for it to be banned.

Totally agree ridgeacre, one of my mates under drink and drugs ran someone over and killed him. He went to jail and when out said, it was a piece of cake. This is whats wrong with the UK we spend millions trying to get people to stop smoking, and telling them how to run their lives so we cant afford prisions to put the scum in and support victims of crime.

You say that you want to take away "our right" to smoke. what would you say to the animal rights people who want to take away "your right" to catch fish?! we all have reasons to dislike what others do but why are us smokers always labled as the bad guys. we are already made to feel like leppers! we were told that we cannot smoke indoors but we CAN smoke outdoors. if you want to stop us from smoking whilst fishing you will have to look at finding indoor fishing venues!

good point ridgeacre there are more important issues to worry about than some guy sat in the next peg to you causing a smell that you dont like.
rive,t thank you for your concern over my health, but really theres is no need, my missus does more damage than smoking does!!

i smoke i dont throw fag ends in the water, anglers who smoke on our matches are told not to do this, and they have to take there fag ends away with them. any litter on the peg and they dont get weighed in THIS INCLUDES FAG ENDS there are far more empty beercans, sweetcorn/meat tins and bits of tackle left around than there are fag ends mate

Just as a point of fact smoking isnt banned in public, it is banned in ENCLOSED buildings or vehicles that are open to the public ie shops restaurants bars etc. There is no legislation in place for open places.

yes, I am as smoker, but yes I would actually support a total ban as frankly I have tried everything to give up and within a few months am back on the fags.

Sadly the government hasnt got the balls to ban smoking despite overwheliming evidence that its the best way forward, simply due to the fact that Q5 tax on cigarettes in this country swells the government coffers massively.

I do sympathise with a non smoker who has to inhale smoke but wonder how close the pegs are in a wide open space on a fishery if its having an adverse affect on you!

"Hello Mr Smoker...have you got a permit to smoke that Cigarette"

I hope i get a bonus based on results...The first places i'll visit is commercial fisheries.

I'll be loaded!!!!
