John was fishing a match had not had a bite in 4 hours 50 minutes and blanking badly.

Looking up to heaven he said, "Lord take pity on me. If you let me hook a fish, I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of me life, and give up the whiskey."

Miraculously, out of nowhere Johns float dipped and the elastic came streaming out of his pole as he hooked a lump.

John looked up again and said, "Never mind, I’ve got one."
