Default match entrance money?

i had a letter today from BW about....BW stillwater championships 2007..and they would like any one who wants to fish it to pay £20 entrance & £20 per match pools..well to me thats £40 a match... so i took me heart pills and thought WOW thats a lot of dough................is it me living in the past or is it a lot of dough to fish a match..your comments gentle men would interest me

British waterways are running a new competition with a 1st prize of £5000

There will be 5 qualifiers of 80 anglers where the 8 section winners will go through to the final at Blythe Waters on 8th september.

Qualifiers

14th April Makins
12th May Drayton
9th June Earlswood
14th July Blthe waters
11th August Clattercote

Final will be

1st £5000
2nd £2000
3rd £1000

5 section winners £104

All prizes are based on 80 fishing each qualifer.

I've just worked it out and i aint sure if i have done it correct but i reckon they are taking £5.18 peg fee.

When you consider the administration costs involved then they will not be making a great deal out of this so fair play to them.

I take it all back

first 3 clash with fisho qualifiers
4th one with the div 3 national
5th with the div 1 national..

You would have thought that they would have checked.

In reply to your original question Larry then i think £40 is over the top.

I usually pay £10/12 for opens and £15 for team matches where they pay out the top teams on the day.
