if you dont want to take it back .....

At your own risk (but ive never had a prob or caused damage doing it)
with the section held vertically tap the bottom (large end) of the pole on the ground.

make slow but firm strikes
usually sections drop out after 2-3 taps

if your worried about chipping sections, might be worth doing it on a carpet to reduce risk of damage.

had this prob a few times usualy when i've packed pole away when its been wet and like beasty said hold pole vertically with large end down and drop it down from about a foot ( 12") on to a soft surface and it will come apart with no damage

Any decent tackle shop should help you out for a small cost, afterall if it's new you don't want to break it. So i would leave it to the proffesionals mate better to be safe than sorry.
