it use to be great at pollington till the cormarants had there fill . u want a heavy sticky mix , world champion n black roach but the fish are tightly shoaled up . if u draw on fish loose fed caster is the way to go . rigs want to be heavy rather then light , it can go a bit

no just a couple of club matches ive fished it a couple of times in past but dont seem to be able to get that few extra fish to win manage to get 5-6lb of fish but inevitably you need 10lb+ to win

usually put in 3 or 4 balls of roach mix gros gorgons etc mixed with a bit of leam to get it down especially if its pulling hard then loose feed over top when its stood

do i do as richie suggests and loose feed casters or i was thinking off feeding heavier at start then fishing this out before topping up when bites drop off but i dont have time to practice and i dont want to kill it at start of match so im looking for inspiration from you lads and lasses

any help appreciated mick

firstly mick you need to draw well there is about 8 pegs that usually produce and away from these it can get hard. as for feeding i would if on these good pegs feed positively four good balls laced with caster , hemp AND chopped worm i prefer turbo with a bit of pv1. loose feed if its not running but beware the roach will come up if you feed too light happened to me a few times. as for rigs i set up four depending on what the pace is i use drennan tipo in .75 , 1g , 2g and 3g the faster the pace the heavier and with everything bulked down . try laying on dragging up to 18" over depth till you find what they want on the day. if your away from this area try three lines at 6m , 9m and 11m i would bait dropper the feed on these with pinkies added try to keep it tight and probably wouldnt loose feed on these pegs apart from hemp and only if it was still or very gently pulling 3lb to 4lb is a good weight away from the flyers and like you say double figures usually comes off the good pegs although we have had matches won with as little as 5lb and as much as 28lb
best of luck mate let us know how you do i've got at least one on there this winter.

make it easy 4 yourself mick n just draw a flier (easier said then done) . just on the same lines as the heavy rigs , its worth putting up a couple of flat floats n holding tight over your stuff , layed on to suit the conditions . fished at rawcliff n beevers this year n it does work . never ad the roach coming up though hence the heavy rigs , but thats all to do with your feeding
