Default its best to buy elastic fresh

i have found it better if the elastic comes stretchy when you buy it because sometimes you dont jnow how long its been on the shelf.

Take it from the back of the pile,as this should be the newest if stock is rotated correctly, even if not new it will of been sheilded from light etc from stock in front of it, so should be good.

freeze some batches overnight to make them last a few days longer

Look at the bottom of the packet should have a sell by date on it if you open and dont use straight away keep it in the fridge

I keep mine in a wooden topped "bin".Its best to use it asap,i just
slice off the required amount,use it & put the rest back in the packet.
I dont know the exact size,but i use the thick brown stuff or the thin
white stuff.Just make sure theres no roach or any silverfish in the bin
& you'll be fine.

I get mine from the market, at least that way you know it's fresh, and organic.

I often make my own in a machine i got from Lidl,
you just add the basic ingredients & in 2hrs it produces
enough to fill an average Pole three times over at a cost
of no more than £2
