Default Canal skimmers?

How would you target skimmers on a canal marina? Im catching roach then two or three skimmers just wondered should I try a separate swim for the skimmers and how would you do it. Cheers

Get some groundbait down. If there are enough of them there they home in on it and stay! I used a propriety groundbait with 0.5 brown crumb sweetened with "Touche."Don't know where to get Touche now, but molasses would be a good substitute! Single pinkie on a light rig ,double if big cousin turns up!

Chopped worm and caster is a great bait for skimmers, Ground bait mixed with Brasam or molasses.

What normally works for them is just keep potting in small balls of crumb regular - either that or feed squatt and fish big white maggot over the top!

This time of year, you would be safer feeding liquidised bread.Groundbait could be the kiss of death.Fish punch on the hook but introduce a few casters for when the bread starts to slow up.If the fish are their then the better quality fish should take the caster, later in the match. In the clear water squat and Groundbait is a bit risky.if the fish back off, then they are likely to go next door to the next angler.

Scalded pinkies or maggots is another good idea.
