Default Pull Bungs

If ur tackle is balanced correctly which it should be then i cant see how pull bungs would work because if you hooked a bonus fish and tried to use the pull bung then your hooklengh would give way because it was originly balanced out for what you was intending to catch ?

a pull bung is so when you are fishing with a light elastic say for silvers and you hook a carp the pull bung will allow you to control the amount of elastic you want the fish to have ie you can pull the elastic back

yes i no but if you limit the amount of elastic then it will get stronger and the hooklengh will snap because its designed to snap before the elastic does. say like you was catchin roach then hooked a carp the elastic would stream out but if u limit the amount it can take then it will go stronger and would snap the hooklengh because it was originly balanced for the silvers do u get me.

Luke... Not exactly - once a fish has made it's initial runs you can feel the tension on the elastic in your hand when using a pull bung - so once the initial strong runs are over you have much more control over the fish and can land it much more quickly. As Alan said the pull bung allows you to use a lighter elastic than you might normally use and therefore you can fish with an altogether lighter set up.

the idea of the pull bung is that as the bonus fish tires, you can shorten the length of elastic and net the fish easier rather than having 5/6 sections of pole in the air. this won't affect the strength of your hooklength because the fish is not trying as hard to swim away.

yes what your saying is when your elastic is bottomed out the line will break which is usually the case but the pull bung is supposed to allow you to tension a lighter elastic so you can attempted to turn the fish before that happens
