After my fairly short time at this game I'm coming around to thinking it's good advice & hours & hours on the bank practicing it.

Think it varies from species of fish , roach will come to noise were as bream wont , but they will find the smell and also depths of venues can determine which work best . What I'm trying to say is there is a time and a place for all of them

if you are up in the water or on the bottom it's got to be the noise from the pellets hitting the water can attract fish into a swim also with the noise of ground bait hitting the water even if you are on the bottom or up in the water fishing ..small plays a big part in that fish home in on to the bait, be it ground bait with liquid attractors in it or pellets socked in attractors all the same it plays it's part...cloud this plays a part in also attracting fish into your swim be it silvers or carp.. as my bro said they all work one way or another....

Bream will come to a disturbance. As Woodhouse says, best way is to fish where they are, no need then lol. Not that I know when Slladey draws me a peg...

This list is not exhaustive but is a start:

Noise - both balling in and constant loosefeed (demonstrated by tapping or cupping water...)
Smell -particles and also liquids
Little and often loosefeed to create a column of bait
Leams, dyes and liquids to create a visual column
Contrasting colours - ie punch vs blacked up gbait on a dark bottom
Fish activity - fish draw fish

etc etc etc
